Putting Bereavement Support Within Reach of Every School

1 April 2025Sibling Support

Helping send grief and wellbeing resource packs to schools across Ely and nearby villages for pupils who lose a brother or sister.

"

Schools will have support on hand and ready when a student of theirs has a brother or sister pass away.

The Rotary Club of Ely is pleased to support Sibling Support in making grief and wellbeing resources available to schools throughout Ely and the surrounding villages.

When a child or young person loses a brother or sister, schools may need to respond quickly while also navigating a deeply personal and complex form of bereavement. Having suitable guidance already available can help staff offer thoughtful support from the outset.

Sibling Support intends to proactively send resource packs to every local school, ensuring materials are on hand before they are needed. Each pack will also explain the wider services available to bereaved siblings and those supporting them.

By helping these resources reach schools across the area, Ely Rotary is supporting a compassionate and prepared response for young people facing an exceptionally painful loss.
