Keeping the Music Going for a Young Person

Helping a young person continue piano lessons that have made a positive difference to their mood and wellbeing.

He is loving them and it has made a great difference to his mood.

The Rotary Club of Ely is delighted to support Cambridge Acorn Project in helping a young person continue piano lessons that have had a positive effect on his wellbeing.

The request came through a children’s mental-health social prescriber who works with children and young people who are struggling, helping them access appropriate support, services and activities.

After taking part in a term of piano lessons, the young person developed a real enjoyment of music and experienced a noticeable improvement in his mood. However, continued funding was not otherwise available for another term.

Rotary’s support will allow the lessons to continue, preserving a positive routine and a creative outlet that is already making a meaningful difference in this young person’s life.
